Bangkok. The role of social media, sustainable development policies and technologies deployed on the floor of the venue – many new criteria are to be looked at to make an exhibition a success. Speakers at the UFI Open Seminar in Asia on 24 and 25 February 2011 at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld in Bangkok will address the ingredients that go into making a successful exhibition in an ever changing environment.

Early bird rates are available until 21 January registering at http://www.ufi.org/bangkok2011/

They will focus on both core elements as well as the changing, newer criteria which are increasingly important. The core ingredients remain unchanged: identifying an industry, addressing a specific theme, selecting a venue, targeting the right visitors and exhibitors, and partnering with the best stand contractors and suppliers. All of these are still essential, but the new elements are rapidly rising to the fore. Approaches that have succeeded in the past now need to be revisited and improved in order to remain competitive and relevant. We have gathered together innovative thinkers from within our industry as well as experts in areas that have new relevance to exhibitions in Asia to initiate a discussion about how we can build on our past successes for an even more successful future. Speakers will be among others:
•    Preecha S. Chen, President, Reed Exhibitions Greater China Head Office, China, giving the speech “Exhibitions in Asia: A journey of growth”;
•    Siew-Hoon Yeoh, Editor and Producer of  Web In Travel (WIT), Singapore, giving the speech “Integrating social media into your exhibition”
•    Wolfgang Schellkes, President & CEO, Fair Relations GmbH, Germany, giving the speech “Mergers & acquisitions in Asia”
•    Arin Jira, Co-Chairman, ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), Thailand, giving the speech “Growth opportunities in ASEAN markets”
