Copenhagen. For the first time in history a 'Cyborg participant' will attend a conference. The Cyborg participant is a robot and the robot will attend the FRESH Conference taking place in Copenhagen from January 26th-28th. FRESH - the leading Meetings Design Conference - offer event professionals a single stop solution to increase their skills and contacts in strategic meeting design.
A human participant will be ‘present’ through a robot at the FRESH conference and at the same time stay home with her little baby. She can watch the presentations, drive from one meeting room to another and even participate in discussions.
During coffee breaks, she can talk to other participants and visit the stands of all other innovating companies. She will even be present at the Abbit Meeting Support stand. Abbit Meetings Support is the sponsor of the project.
From her iPad at home in Belgium she can control the robot in Copenhagen. The iPad in the robot shows her face and returns video of the congress. The FRESH team is interested in her experience and wants to examine whether it is feasible to follow a complete conference in that way.
This experiment is one of many innovations that 'The FRESH conference' introduces for meetings and conferences. Congress innovation is the objective of FRESH, which was launched by Belgian Maarten Vanneste, to improve conferences and seminars and make presentations more fun and effective. The FRESH conference has about 200 on-site participants from 22 countries and as many free, on-line participants from countries like Mexico and South Africa to Canada and Korea.
