IBTM World 2026 returns to Fira Gran Via in Barcelona from 17 to 19 November and positions itself as one of the industry’s largest event technology platforms. The Event Tech & Services Zone has been significantly expanded and brings together technology providers, start-ups and investors to support event professionals in selecting practical solutions.
Practice-Oriented Technology Solutions in Focus
Given the multitude of new platforms, AI tools and digital solutions, the expanded zone focuses on practical applications that help event professionals create better experiences and make informed decisions. The Event Technology & Services Zone unites leading providers such as Events Air, vFairs, ACS audiovisual solutions and Swoogo, as well as specialists in experiential technology, AI and audience engagement. Visitors can compare solutions, watch live demonstrations and speak directly with development teams.
The offering includes event management platforms, matchmaking solutions, attendee engagement tools, analytics software, hybrid event platforms and immersive experiences.
AI for Events – Demo Day LIVE
New to the programme is AI for Events – Demo Day LIVE on 19 November, delivered in partnership with consulting and media company Boldpush. Ten selected companies – Advcy, CueForge, Event Flow App, Event Labs, Exhibitly, ExpoBooth, Highbar, Magipic, Memnto Photo and uchop – will showcase practical solutions for smarter networking, stronger engagement and more efficient operations.
The programme includes an AI Demo Exhibition Area, Lightning Demo Sessions and Future Stage content on the practical application of AI in the events industry.
Show Director Claudia Hall explains: “Event professionals are being asked to achieve more, from creating stronger attendee connections to proving event impact and delivering more personalised experiences. Technology has an important role to play yet knowing where to start and understanding what solutions can genuinely make a difference is often the biggest challenge.”
IBTM Ignite Expands
The start-up programme IBTM Ignite returns following its successful debut last year. The programme connects emerging start-ups with global buyers and investors. The first edition saw more than 80 start-ups participate, with 35 selected for a programme combining live pitching, exhibition opportunities and direct commercial engagement.
In 2026, the programme will expand and welcome a new cohort of innovative start-ups. More than 15 investors who have built, bought and scaled businesses are expected to participate, not only offering one-to-one advice but also potentially funding innovation.
Start-ups interested in applying for the 2026 programme can do so via the IBTM website. Registration for IBTM World 2026 is also already available.
