Karina Grützner, Director Convention Marketing at Stuttgart Convention Bureau has been elected chairperson of ICCA’s Central European Chapter (CEC). Igor Kovacevic, CEO of Serbia Convention Bureau has been elected as the deputy chairperson.
The term lasts two years. CEC is ICCA’s second largest chapter. The chairpersons will focus on evaluating future challenges, adjusting education events and strengthening networking within the chapter, ICCA says. One major project will be the design of the education program for the upcoming summer meeting in Belgrade August, 29 – 31.
Since April 2012 Karina Grützner has been appointed at the Stuttgart Convention Bureau. Previous to this she worked for the Messe Stuttgart as Marketing & Sales Manager for the newbuilt ICS International Congress Centre Stuttgart, as well as in the events department of the German National Tourist Board.
Anna Górska, Expo XXI Warsaw International Expocentre nominated and Matthias Schultze, German Convention Bureau (GCB) seconded her.
For the last 11 years Igor Kovacevic has been combining academic and professional career in the meetings industry. Working for a national bureau, he established a proactive sales platform targeting international clients. In the same time he worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade.
Roman Raimund Straub from Prague Congress Centre nominated and Aniko Ferenczy from Budapest Congress Center seconded him.
