Upgraded. The infrastructure improvements achieved due to The World Expo 2010 will benefit Shanghai long term. That is especially true referring to the meetings industry. Five buildings and pavilions constructed for the Expo are or already have been converted into meetings and events facilities. The Expo Center for example offers ,brand new convention facilities with 4 large-scale meeting rooms from 2000 sqm to 7200 sqm and around 100 breakout rooms ready for hosting large-scale meetings and events. The Theme Pavilion boasts of the largest pillarless exhibition space in Asia with an impressive 23,000 sqm. It is also able to accommodate meetings of 1000 capacity. The Mercedes-Benz Arena with a multi-purpose 18,000-seat capacity, called the Expo Cultural Center during the mega event, will reinforce Shanghai as a culturally-rich city on the world map and create a new destination for arts and lifestyle on the international stage.
