Adelaide has achieved significant growth in business events, with over $540 million secured in the first half of the financial year, compared to $336 million for all of 2023/24. This was announced by Business Events Adelaide. A major contributor is the Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX), set to bring five events to Adelaide between 2025 and 2033. Even without this agreement, Adelaide’s mid-year performance has already exceeded last year’s results.

Adelaide’s Appeal as a Business Destination

Chief Executive Officer Damien Kitto attributed this success to a combination of factors, including strong support from the South Australian Government, competitive pricing, and Adelaide’s expertise in industries such as health, defence, and energy. Recent data also positions Adelaide as one of Australia’s most affordable capital cities, with lower accommodation costs compared to Sydney and Perth.
