For the 2006 World Cup a group of German hotels have agreed to cap prices for their 45,000 rooms. The maximum price is based on 2003 rates plus an inflation surcharge. The group includes Accor, Dorint, Maritim and Steigenberger, along with some privately run hotels. The rooms can be booked on www.fifaworldcup.com. Additionally, the hotel booking machine HRS has reserved 20,000 rooms in the host cities: www.hrs.de/wm2006.
