On November 18-19, 2024, the 9th UN Tourism World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism took place at Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) in Sakhir. This marked the forum’s first edition in the Middle East, with over 500 participants from more than 50 countries. The forum brought together industry leaders, policy makers, and experts to share insights and explore future opportunities in gastronomy tourism, with Bahrain serving as a key regional hub for this growing sector. The event highlights the country’s engagement in promoting gastronomy tourism.

A Venue Ready for Global Dialogue

EWB provided the setting for the forum with its Grand Hall, meeting rooms, and Pre-Function Area. The venue is equipped to host large-scale events with adaptable spaces, extensive parking, and catering facilities capable of serving up to 10,000 guests. The program included discussions on sustainable tourism and the role of gastronomy in fostering cultural exchange.
