Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre has appointed Austrian-born chef Andreas Gober as Executive Chef. Known for his global culinary background and passion for seasonal, local ingredients, Gober will lead the venue’s food strategy ahead of its opening in July 2026.

In his new role, Gober will lead all culinary operations at the soon‑to‑open Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre, drawing on a résumé that spans European fine dining, luxury cruise lines, hotel banquets, and stadium catering.

Gober plans to partner with growers and artisans across the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast to create dishes rooted in regional produce. His first signature offering—a Moorabool Valley duck breast with saltbush, lentil granola and local carrots—exemplifies his focus on ingredient‑led cooking.
