Relaunch. Cairns & Region Convention Bureau was re-branded Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef by CEO of Tourism Tropical North Queensland, Rob Giason. In a first for a Queensland Convention Bureau, Rob Giason said “the decision to re-brand as Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef was made in order to move forward with industry trends and track in-line with national peak body, Business Events Australia”.

 Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef is a membership-based not for profit organisation dedicated to marketing Cairns & Great Barrier Reef as the premier destination for business and events tourism. Complimentary services to event planners include: Providing general information and advice about the region Assisting you with the preparation of your event proposal, liaising on all aspects of venue and accommodation information, supplying promotional literature and collateral.

The Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef’s 2009/2010 Meeting & Incentive Planners’ Guide was launched today as well by Steve Wettenhall MP, Member for Barron River and Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism in Queensland at Pullman Reef Hotel Casino.
The new 2009/2010 Guide has a myriad of fresh new elements – stronger destination imagery, new sections such as ‘Green Advantage’, ‘New Projects’, ‘Spa & Dining Indulgence’, increased flight information, a two year event calendar and venue capacity tables for key business event venues. The Planner also includes more ‘Event Ideas, Incentives & Activities’, ‘Touring / Partner Programs’ and ‘Team Building’ sections in order to showcase the region’s amazing diversity.
