The board has elected the Basel native to succeed Daniel Egloff. After 21 years with Basel Tourism, the latter has decided to seek a new professional challenge as an independent consultant. Until Letizia Elia starts in her new position, the deputy director, Christoph Bosshardt, will take over management responsibility with immediate effect.

Letizia Elia has been Head Business Development and Member of the Executive Board at Switzerland Tourism since 2018. Prior to that, the qualified translator with a Master of Business Administration from the FHNW worked for ten years as Head of Marketing & Business Development and most recently as Deputy Director at the Congress Center Basel.
