The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) and The Star Brisbane have announced a collaboration aimed at enhancing Brisbane’s events and conference scene. This partnership coincides with the launch of The Star Brisbane and Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct in August 2024, which will introduce new entertainment options, luxury hotels, dining venues, bars, and state-of-the-art event spaces to Brisbane’s meetings and events industry.

BCEC is one of the largest conference venues in Brisbane, hosting approximately 120 events and thousands of delegates each year. It is conveniently located near the South Bank precinct, which offers a variety of attractions such as a vibrant piazza, expansive green spaces, and lagoons.

The upcoming precinct covers 12 hectares of riverfront land and will feature purpose-built event spaces, luxury hotels, a Sky Deck offering panoramic views 100 meters above the Brisbane River, an extensive Leisure Deck catering to various event and entertainment possibilities, as well as several dining options, riverfront parklands, and heritage buildings.

Kelvin Dodt, the Chief Operating Officer of Hospitality at The Star Brisbane, has drawn attention to the venue’s unique offerings, such as the Sky Deck and Leisure Deck, which are intended to complement Brisbane’s existing attractions and spaces. Kym Guesdon, the General Manager of BCEC, has highlighted the collaborative effort’s ability to enhance the overall delegate experience and expand the value proposition of the South Bank precinct.
