In 2023, the CCB team has already achieved considerable success in the area of congress acquisition. Outstanding examples can be found among the events such as FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE Conference 2023 (biochemistry), ISOQOL 31st Annual Conference 2024 (pharmaceuticals and biotechnology) with the associated PHO 2024 Conference and PCE World Conference 2026 (psychotherapy).

These international events bring professionals from all over the world to Cologne and, in addition to promoting knowledge and innovation, contribute to further establishing Cologne as an outstanding MICE destination.

Jürgen Amann, Managing Director of KölnTourismus: “The successes of our CCB team emphasize Cologne is an outstanding and sought-after MICE location nationally and internationally. We are also noticing an increase in enquiries for Cologne due to the Confex Event and Convention Centre, which will be launched in 2024. Designed for higher-capacity events, Confex fills a current gap in supply and has a positive impact on the perception of Cologne as a MICE destination.”

The CCB’s future projects include the launch of the new website with a revised meeting planner and further MICELab events, as well as two fam-trips. In September the CCB will welcome decision-makers from the corporate sector to Cologne in cooperation with the MICE Club, and in November decision-makers from associations together with Verbändereport will be welcomed.

Before that, from 23-25 May, the Cologne Convention Bureau will be exhibiting at IMEX in Frankfurt, where it will also introduce the team to the trade public and position Cologne as an attractive conference location.

Cologne Tourist Board is the official tourism organization of the city of Cologne and thus the first point of contact for visitors from all over the world, whether they’re coming here on business or to spend their leisure time. Together with its partners, Cologne Tourist Board conducts marketing activities all over the world for Cologne as a travel destination and a convention venue.

The team of the Convention Bureau is managed by head Filiz Ük and consists of four other colleagues:
