CIM Australia reports: Victoria has launched an Open for Business corporate campaign to persuade companies and government agencies to hold conferences and other business events in regions hit by the bush fires. Tourism & Major Events Minister Tim Holding says the campaign will help the state recover following cancellations and a drop in visitor numbers. “The $70,000 campaign is designed to drive conference business to bushfire- affected regions such as the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, Gippsland, the High Country and Daylesford, and Macedon Ranges. We are working with Business Events Victoria and Tourism Alliance Victoria to spread the word that regional Victoria is open for business.” An 1800 phone number has been set up directly linking to the Yarra Valley Conference Group, and businesses with conference venues can have a free listing. www.cimmagazine.com
