Australia. Adelaide Convention Centre is taking part in Earth Hour this Saturday 28 March, turning out its lights from 8.30pm. Most of the Centre will be plunged into darkness for an hour with just minimal lighting left on to ensure the safety of Regattas Restaurant patrons and guests at two weddings being held at the Centre during the event.

“Adelaide Convention Centre is a strong supporter of the environment backed by our gold service, green attitude philosophy,” Adelaide Convention Centre Chief Executive Alec Gilbert says. “We have worked closely with our clients to ensure minimal disruption during Earth Hour while ensuring our voice is heard as part of the global call for climate change action.”

The Centre continues to lead the way in environmental practices in the meetings and events industry with the recent release of three new sustainable meetings packages that ensure even the smallest of gatherings go for green. The three new packages all feature carbon offsetting as well as a long list of environmentally friendly inclusions and are the latest in Adelaide Convention Centre’s push to become the most environmentally responsible convention centre in Australia. www.adelaidecc.com.au
