The IMEX Group has shared post-show data from IMEX Frankfurt, which took place in May at Messe Frankfurt. The statistics indicate a successful event, with a total of 11,764 participants, including 3,883 buyers from 94 countries. The event featured 2,900 exhibiting companies.

Buyers at IMEX Frankfurt scheduled 57,700 pre-arranged appointments, with 47,700 of them confirmed before the show as one-on-one meetings. The focus in recent years has been on ensuring that hosted buyers understand the flexibility and freedom offered by the show, resulting in self-selected appointments of higher quality and relevance.

According to a press release, the data also reveals the buying power of different buyer categories and their countries of origin. The majority of IMEX hosted buyers have a buying power exceeding $1 million annually, with 31% having budgets between $1 million and $5 million, and 28% representing potential spending of $5 million or more in meetings, events, or incentive travel. The seniority of IMEX buyers is also noteworthy, with 45% holding C-level positions and 38% in management roles.

The event received positive feedback from attendees, with increased attendance, high-quality buyers, more business transactions, and active engagement throughout the event. The introduction of a new app allowed exhibitors and buyers to access free lead scanning, which was widely used, resulting in 74,000 scans being collected during the week.

Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, highlighted the event’s role in providing insights into the post-pandemic market. Despite challenges such as the war in Ukraine, supply chain disruptions, and rising prices, there is a strong demand for face-to-face events. The industry recognizes the value of well-designed live events for engaging dispersed workforces, fostering community, and driving brand growth and revenue. The market is also showing a greater willingness to adapt and meet current business needs.
