Kuching to Host World Congress on Design and Health 2026

From September 29 to October 2, 2026, Kuching, Sarawak, will welcome global experts for the 15th World Congress and Exhibition on Design and Health (WCDH). The event will focus on designing for healthy lifestyles, equity, and sustainability.

WCDH 2026, co-organised by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and the International Academy for Design and Health, will bring over 1,000 delegates to Kuching. Themed “Shaping Future Health Society,” the congress will highlight how design influences health, addressing urban planning, sustainability, and behavioral change. The event is supported by key government partners, including the Padawan Municipal Council, Kota Samarahan Municipal Council, and Kuching South City Council.

Aligning with Sarawak’s Development Goals

The Hon. Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak, emphasized the event’s alignment with Sarawak’s WHO Healthy City initiatives and the Post-Covid Development Strategy 2030.
