The Maritim hotel chain posted an increase in 2004 despite poor domestic demand. Total sales went up by five million euros to 330 million. The occupation rate of the 43 hotels, including eight outside Germany, increased from 54 to 56.7 per cent. In the core segment – Congresses, Conventions and Meetings – overnight stays went up 3.5 per cent. Especially its hotels in Stuttgart, Bremen, Hanover Airport, Munich, Ulm and Würzburg contributed to the good result. The latest projects are the Erlweinspeicher in Dresden and a hotel in Düsseldorf, slated to open in 2007. For 2005 Maritim expects sales to go up 2.6 per cent. www.maritim.de
