Insights. According to the latest Business Barometer published by Meeting Professionals International (MPI), business conditions in the meetings industry gradually improve in a climate of economic uncertainty in the US and Europe. Around 65 per cent of the survey’s particpiants find current business conditions “favorable” compared to last year. Thus meeting professionals work to develop value and deliver employee education particularly in hybrid and virtual technology, the report states. Suppliers and third-party planners are increasing marketing efforts, adding and honing staff and implementing more strategic approaches to sales and marketing. The MPI Business Barometer is carried out every two months by research firm Association Insights surveying its Business Research Panel, a select group of senior-level meeting professionals from MPI’s 23,000 international members.
