Halifax’s new Convention Centre, scheduled to open in December 2017, is set to be part of one of the largest, high-tech smart buildings in Atlantic Canada. Thousands of kilometres of network fibre have been laid in the one million square foot building, ensuring private, secure and dedicated network fibre for all tenants, including the Halifax Convention Centre.

In addition to Wi-Fi, this investment will allow more than 10,000 people inside the Convention Centre, and 3,000 in common areas, to enjoy free high-speed, always on connectivity inside of the building at the same time.

The Convention Centre is also working with local suppliers and partners to encourage visitors to discover Nova Scotia with its Local Flavours programme.

The Halifax Convention Centre features:

Other developments in Nova Scotia include the rebranding, renovation and opening of two hotels in Dartmouth in September. The new Delta Dartmouth opened in the Burnside Business Park, adjacent to the bustling shopping district at Dartmouth Crossing. With 174 rooms, the hotel boasts over 10,000 sq. ft. of event space.

The Doubletree by Hilton Halifax Dartmouth, situated next to the McDonald Bridge, offers quick and easy access to downtown Halifax and Dartmouth Crossing. With 205 rooms, the hotel provides over 12,000 sq. ft. of conference and event spaces, featuring a large 4,500 sq. ft. ballroom.
