Education. To give professionals a greater understanding of the theory and practice of creative and effective utilization of incentive and motivational travel programs to drive business results, SITE (an association in the incentive field) is introducing the Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) certification program. This course will provide emerging professionals, faculty and students aspiring to enter this specialized segment of the meetings and events industry a competitive advantage as incentive planners or suppliers.
“We are introducing this new certification to raise the bar on the competency and competitiveness of professionals in the motivational experiences and incentive travel industry,” said Site Managing Director Allison Summers. “The Site International Board of Directors launches this program with great excitement, and it is one of many educational initiatives Site is bringing forward over the coming year.”
Professionals can receive the CIS designation by attending a two-day live education program that addresses the fundamentals of incentives, the value proposition of motivational programs and non-cash awards, the value chain, the composition of the incentive travel market, and the successful planning and delivery of incentives. Attendees of these programs will also benefit from valuable network building in the industry. The first two education programs will be held 7 and 8 December 2012 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and 9 and 10 December 2012 in Los Cabos, Mexico.
