Veit Schröder, Manager Schleswig-Holstein Convention Bureau (SHCB), Kiel

CIM: Schleswig-Holstein is the perfect breeding ground for …
Veit Schröder: Inspiration, unforgettable memories and fresh ideas. Experience North German serenity instead of big city stress, fresh air instead of grey rooms, extraordinary venues with a sea view and professional infrastructure. Schleswig-Holstein (SH) is an innovation hub, especially in the fields of life sciences, maritime sectors, logistics and renewable energies.

Which are your top tips for teambuilding and incentive elements?
As a passionate yachtsman and kite surfer, team building on or by the sea is something really special for me. Schleswig-Holstein is Germany’s only federal state with two coasts. It offers almost unlimited possibilities. Many organisers stage cruises on yachts or traditional sailing ships, navigating the archipelago of the Baltic Sea. Alternatively, team members can discover hidden talents in raft-building courses. My insider tips: Sand sailing in Sankt Peter-Ording; in a three-wheeled cart, propelled by a sail, you can race over the North Sea beach at a speed of up to 100 km/h. On Sylt, you can tour Germany‘s northernmost wine-growing region, the Keitum vineyards, on an e-bike.

What is your personal mission statement?
One and a half years ago the SHCB was set up in Tourism Agency Schleswig-Holstein (TASH) in order to pool MICE marketing measures of the individual regions and offer customers a one-stop contact. My aim is to establish Schleswig-Holstein as an attractive second destination in the meetings and conventions market.

Thank you very much, Mr Schröder.
