Penang will host the International Conference of Butterfly Exhibitors and Suppliers (ICBES 2024) for the third time, bringing together nearly 100 participants from 19 countries.

Penang has been selected to host the International Conference of Butterfly Exhibitors and Suppliers (ICBES 2024) from November 4th to 7th, marking the third time the city will held this event. The conference will take place at the Ascott Gurney Penang and Entopia, drawing nearly 100 participants from 19 countries, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The event will feature a post-conference tour to Sungai Relau National Park in Pahang from November 8th to 10th, providing attendees with an opportunity to experience Malaysia’s beauty.

Global Event Highlights Penang’s Role in Biodiversity and Conservation

The ICBES 2024 is expected to generate an Estimated Economic Impact (EEI) of RM 1.45 million for Penang, underscoring the significant benefits of hosting such an international event. The conference will include a series of networking events, educational sessions, and tours, highlighting Penang’s biodiversity and commitment to conservation. Supported by the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), the event will also showcase Penang’s cultural and culinary heritage, offering delegates a comprehensive experience of the region.
