4000 oncologists. The St. Gallen Breast Cancer conference is generally accepted to be the most significant conference in the field of breast cancer. Decisions made in the St, Gallen Consensus Panel, traditionally held on the last day of the conference, lay down the foundations of the future treatment of breast cancer on an international level.

In March 2015 the conference, which attracts more than 4000 oncologists from all over the world biannually, will not be held in the eponymous Swiss city of St. Gallen, but in the Austrian capital of Vienna. With this conference, the city of Vienna and its scientific community have won an enormous asset. Vienna already plays host to several cancer congresses of international appeal every year. The Breast Cancer Conference is expected to further strengthen the city’s status as one of the major hubs of cancer research in Europe as well as its international network of medical researchers.

The Vienna-based professional congress organiser Mondial Congress & events, which already planned this year’s St. Gallen Gastrointestinal Cancer Conference in Switzerland, has been appointed official PCO.
