Construction has officially started on a new exhibition hall at the Prague Congress Centre, adding 5,000 square metres of multifunctional exhibition space by 2028. The CZK 1.35 billion project is expected to increase Prague’s capacity to host larger international congresses that could not previously be accommodated. Alongside the infrastructure investment, the city is preparing to host several major international meetings, including the World Dental Congress 2026, which is expected to welcome more than 8,000 delegates from over 100 countries, and the SEFI Annual Conference 2026 for the European engineering education community.
Destination development extends beyond venue expansion
Prague Convention Bureau continues to strengthen the destination’s international profile through its Ambassador Programme, which marked its 15th anniversary this year, as well as a recent press trip for international meetings industry media. At the same time, the city’s visitor infrastructure continues to evolve. Prague Airport has expanded its long-haul network with a new direct route to Philadelphia and announced new services to Hanoi and Marrakesh for autumn 2026. The airport also received the Overall Winner title at the Routes Europe Awards 2026. Further developments include the introduction of an electric river fleet by Prague Boats, the selection of Sir Prague Hotel for the Prix Versailles list of the world’s most beautiful hotels, anniversary investments by Zátiší Group and continued expansion of Prague’s event venue and catering offering.
