Charity. The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre played host to 80 children from Living Hope and Persatuan Kebajikan Generasi Gemilang (PKGG) at its annual breaking of fast event in the holy month of Ramadan with approximately 450 team members and ambassadors.

The Centre’s Culinary team led by Pastry Chef, Jamaluddin Zainal Abidin held an ‘express cupcake decorating course’: The children had a fun and playful time decorating Chef’s creations with yummy butter cream, chocolate ganache, marshmallow, cookies crumbles, fresh berries, raspberry jam and an assortment of other exciting toppings, creating their very own masterpieces! And true to this year’s theme ‘A Ramadan feast with traditional and contemporary cuisine’, the children were treated to a sumptuous buka puasa (breaking fast) spread with an exciting international menu.

Dr Peggy Wong, founder and chairman of Living Hope: “We thank the Centre for their continuing generosity and support of Living Hope, and for inviting us to their buka puasa buffet. It was a delicious treat for everyone.” Thanking the Centre for their hospitality, Ms Noelle Tan, Chief Operating Officer from Persatuan Kebajikan Generasi Gemilang, said the children were thrilled to be a part of the event as many of them have never had the opportunity to visit the Centre or experience 5-star cuisine. “We are glad that this partnership has provided the children from the community a memorable experience of celebrating the joy of Ramadan. The cupcake decorating session itself was a child-focused activity to celebrate how special each child is.”
