ICCA held its Global Association Forum (GAF) in Granada from 7–9 July 2025, convening 103 delegates from 33 countries to discuss sustainability and innovation in the meetings industry.

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) hosted the Global Association Forum at the Granada Conference Centre, with primary sponsorship from the Andalusian Tourism Board and support from Granada Convention Bureau and the Junta de Andalucía. Over three days, association leaders, event organisers and destination representatives engaged in sessions addressing sustainable event design, inclusive practices and collaborative strategies to advance regenerative approaches across the business events sector..

GAF 2025: sustainability, collaboration, food-waste toolkit

The programme featured a forward-looking sustainability panel, Ignite Sessions showcasing association-led initiatives, Collaboration Labs for co-creating actionable strategies, and the forum’s inaugural Mandarin-language engagement. Key outcomes included practical measures to promote public transport, onsite accessibility and family-friendly services, and the formal launch of ICCA’s Food Waste Toolkit to help associations reduce catering-related waste. ICCA will publish a report of learnings, outcomes and recommendations in the coming month and thanked partners, speakers and attendees for contributing to a more sustainable, inclusive future for meetings.
