CCIB Preparing to Host International Medical Congresses

In the second half of 2025, the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) will host major international medical and scientific congresses, projecting a 55 % increase in attendance over 2024. Overall, CCIB expects approximately eighty events and 450,000 delegates this year—a 10 % rise from 2024.

After a busy start to the year, Fira de Barcelona’s CCIB is gearing up for a surge of high-profile medical and scientific congresses in the remaining months of 2025. Twelve flagship medical events alone will draw over 207,000 professionals, marking a 55 % increase in medical delegate numbers compared to 2024.

Record Medical Congress Attendance and Revenue Growth

Key upcoming meetings include ESMO Gastrointestinal Cancers Congress (July), CIRSE (September), ECTRIMS (September), World Stroke Congress (October) and EANM (October). Nonmedical highlights feature Mondiacult (UNESCO), Biostimulants World Congress and the International Congress on Archives. With corporate conventions remaining robust—comprising 45 % of CCIB’s activity— medical congresses are projected to generate around 50% of the venue’s revenue in 2025, up from 42.75% in 2024.
