The MeetEngland delegation, including representatives from London, Manchester, Bristol & Bath, Leeds, and Oxford convention bureaus, met with international associations and Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs) from July 1-4, 2025. UK ambassadors welcomed attendees at each networking event, highlighting the importance of the association sector and partnerships.

England’s Strong Position as Congress Destination

With over 120 universities and leading research centers, England offers robust academic infrastructure for congresses. This aligns with the UK Industrial Strategy 2025, prioritizing growth sectors like life sciences, financial services, and creative industries. Already confirmed congresses for 2025 include the Preventing Overdiagnosis Conference in Oxford and the Microscience Microscopy Congress in Manchester.

Industry Perspectives

“Association congresses play a critical role within England’s business events ecosystem, serving as catalysts for knowledge exchange and collaboration across key growth sectors,” says Paul Black, Head of Business Events. Richard Moss from Manchester Convention Bureau adds: “By engaging directly with international trade associations and PCOs, we champion collaboration and position our city as a vibrant hub for innovation and partnership.”
