Prague Congress Centre has officially launched construction of a new Exhibition Hall as part of a major campus expansion project. The development, valued at approximately CZK 1.35 billion, is one of the largest investments in the centre’s 45-year history. The foundation stone was laid by representatives of PCC, the City of Prague, construction company GEMO a.s., and the project’s architectural teams. Construction is expected to take 27 months, with final completion planned for September 2028.
New Exhibition Hall Expands Prague Congress Capacity
The new facility will provide 5,000 m² of net exhibition space and can be divided into up to five independent sections. Together with PCC’s existing 70 halls and lounges, the expansion will increase the campus’s total exhibition capacity to 21,000 m². The project is intended to enable the hosting of large-scale international congresses within a single integrated venue. While the majority of the investment will be financed through PCC’s own resources, the City of Prague is contributing CZK 600 million as part of a broader programme supporting campus development, infrastructure upgrades and public space improvements. The architectural design was developed by OCA Architects in cooperation with CMC Architects and is targeting LEED Gold certification. Following completion of the hall, additional public amenities, including a café, viewing point and improved pedestrian access to Vyšehrad metro station, will be added to the surrounding area.
