Taiwan Hosts IAPCO Annual Meeting

Tsai Ing-wen, Former President of Taiwan (2016–2024), welcomed 130 leaders from 34 countries at the IAPCO Annual Meeting and General Assembly in Taipei from February 21–23, 2025.

Delegates from PCO member companies, whose events generated over €17.78 billion in 2024, gathered for learning and networking. Tsai Ing-wen emphasized that both democracy and conference organisation rely on dialogue and cooperation. She likened conference work to diplomacy, bringing together experts to foster collaboration.

IAPCO’s Role in International Cooperation

Incoming IAPCO President Sissi Lignou noted that over 65% of attendees were first-time visitors to Taiwan, underlining the event’s long-term benefits for the local meetings industry. The Annual Meeting and General Assembly is always hosted by an IAPCO Member, in partnership with the local or national convention bureau or relevant government agency. The 2026 IAPCO Annual Meeting will take place in Athens, Greece.
