Tech startup BeCause, which manages sustainability data in the hotel, travel and tourism industry, has announced a partnership with booking platform hubli.

The collaboration allows hubli to integrate a list of more than 25,000 eco-labeled hotels into its platform, giving customers a better insight into a hotel’s sustainability efforts. This allows users to make bookings that are in line with their environmental, social and governance policies.

Using the so-called “BeCause Sustainability API”, hubli can collect sustainability data from over sixty Travalyst-recognized certifications in real time. The API automatically maps this data to the hotels on the platform, providing insights into energy and water consumption, for example.

The partnership between the two companies is intended to reflect the growing importance of sustainable business travel: according to a GBTA study, 73% of business travel managers are focusing on sustainable travel options for their employees or are planning to do so.
