The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has received the Gold Award for Best Overseas Conference Centre at the Meetings & Incentive Travel (M&IT) Awards 2023. The award, presented at a gala banquet in London, was attended by numerous industry professionals from the UK and around the world. The M&IT Industry Awards, which recognize excellence in the field, are determined by votes from UK event organizers.

According to a press release, the CCD has now secured this honour for the eleventh time, having previously won Silver in 2011 and 2017.

Stephen Meehan, CEO of The CCD, expressed his gratitude for the award, emphasizing that it reflects the dedication and commitment of the entire team in Dublin. The venue faced stiff competition from six other prominent international convention centers but emerged victorious.

Since its inauguration in September 2010, the CCD has reportedly amassed a total of 61 industry awards and has hosted over 2,100 events. In 2022, it hosted 110 events, including 35 international conferences, marking a significant rebound for the industry following the challenges posed by COVID-19.

The venue’s future schedule includes a lineup of notable events such as the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament 2023, SREcon 2023, ISACA Europe Conference 2023: Digital Trust World, 16th European Public Health Conference 2023, ALI Global Sustainability Day 2023, European Cell and Gene Therapy Congress 2023, EACR-AACR-IACR 2024, 43rd Annual Conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment 2024, and Internet Engineering Task Force 121.
