App development. Cvent has just announced its second acquisition in seven days, with the purchase of Portland-based app developer CrowdCompass. CrowdCompass specializes in building mobile applications for business and association events, such as conferences, tradeshows and large-scale meetings. The company has completed apps for corporations, including E*Trade, Daimler, and Intuit; meetings industry organizations, like The Meetings Technology Expo; and associations, like the American Bar Association, Association of General Contractors and American Society of Anesthesiologists. This acquisition comes on the heels of Cvent’s purchase of Seed Labs, a leading provider of apps for consumer events, such as festivals, concerts and sporting events. With the acquisition of these two app development companies the portfolio of Cvent’s services is constantly growing.
