Brussels. Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) is delighted to announce that Anja Loetscher, Director of Geneva Convention Bureau, has joined the DMAI European Advisory Council. Anja started working in the tourism and meetings industry in 1974 right at the beginning of her professional career. In 1994 she was appointed GDS Manager at Astron Hotels & Resorts in Munich and in 1999 she became Regional Sales Director for Central Europe at TravelClick.

In 2002, Anja joined the Kempinski Luxury Hotel Group where she started as General Manager Sales for Germany. Her competences and qualities enabled her to grow very fast in the company as she reached the position of Vice President Sales for the Kempinski Residences worldwide. She moved to Switzerland in 2007 where she started the Geneva Tourism & Convention Bureau with the responsibility to promote Geneva as a key business destination in Europe.

In less than 3 years time the Geneva Tourism & Convention Bureau has made a name for itself and put the city back on the map of the MICE industry. DMAI is very pleased to welcome Anja as new member of its European Advisory Council (EAC) as the leadership is confident that the members as well as the association itself will be able to benefit from her expertise and her dynamic and entrepreneurial spirit. Key player in the industry, she is eager to share her views and ideas on how to help European CVBs and Tourism Boards become successful Destination Marketing Organisations in the region.

“We’re very proud to welcome Anja as a new member in the EAC. I strongly believe that Anja will be a great asset for the evolution of DMAI in Europe” says Charles-Eric Vilain XIIII, Managing Director of Lille Convention Bureau and Chair of DMAI’s European Advisory Council. DMAI established the European Advisory Council (EAC) three years ago shortly after opening its European office in Brussels.

The Council’s mission is to give the association valuable insights, advice and guidance for doing business in Europe. Since its creation, the EAC has been very active in directing DMAI’s European office development, establishing industry partnerships, contributing to the education offerings in Europe, and serving as a general sounding board.
