The Events Industry Council (EIC) has announced 57 professionals who earned their CMP designation in August 2021. The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) programme is recognised around the world as a badge of excellence in the events industry, EIC claims. The full list of new designated CMPs can be viewed here.

“Amid this time of great disruption in our world and the global business events industry, I am inspired by the commitment these individuals have made to their professional growth and development,” said Amy Calvert, Events Industry Council CEO.

The programme was launched by EIC in 1985. In 2014, EIC initiated the CMP-HC subspecialty. Both provide continuing education to increase professionalism and enhance career opportunities in all sectors of the industry by:

– Identifying a comprehensive body of knowledge in the meeting management profession.
– Promoting industry standards, practices, and ethics.
– Stimulating the advancement of the art and science of meeting management.
– Increasing the value of CMPs to their employers.
– Maximising the value received from the products and services provided by CMPs.

EIC expanded testing options in 2020, including year-round testing and remote proctoring, as part of ongoing efforts to support industry professionals seeking to earn the designation.

Until today, more than 11,000 meeting professionals from 40 nations hold the CMP or CMP-HC designation, according to EIC. More information about the programme can be found here: www.eventscouncil.org/cmp/About-CMP.

The Events Industry Council’s more than 30 member organisations represent over 103,500 individuals and 19,500 firms and properties involved in the events industry.
