Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) is more than a venue – it‘s a strategic catalyst for Bahrain’s economic growth, aiming to establish the Kingdom as a premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination.
A Sustainable Business Model for Success
In today‘s dynamic event industry, success hinges on a strategic and adaptable business development approach. EWB recognises this. The venue fosters strong partnerships, prioritises a customer-centric approach, embraces innovation, and stays agile in response to emerging trends. This proactive approach unlocks new opportunities, strengthens key industry connections, and bolsters Bahrain‘s position as a leading MICE destination.
Economic Impact
EWB’s impact extends far beyond its walls, generating a positive ripple effect across diverse sectors in Bahrain’s economy. EWB’s Business Development team actively pursues new opportunities, with a focus on sectors aligned with Bahrain Vision 2030 and a diverse range of B2B and B2C events, from health, hospitality, sustainability, energy, transportation, media, to AI, agriculture, luxury, real estate, defence, finance, arts, F&B, and others.
Targeted Incentives and Strategic Outreach
EWB has launched an incentive programme, supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), to attract major international organisers and associations. The programme is a key element of Bahrain Tourism Strategy 2022–2026, which aims to boost tourism and strengthen Bahrain’s position in the MICE industry.
In 2024, EWB has set its sights on achieving a high occupancy rate. The venue will actively promote its USPs at industry-leading MICE shows like IMEX America, IMEX Frankfurt, ITB China and IBTM Barcelona.
Furthermore, by leveraging its active membership in key international MICE associations – UFI, ICCA, AIPC, IAPCO, PCMA, IAEE and ASAE – EWB is well-positioned to collaborate with industry leaders.
Securing Long-Term Partnerships for Sustained Growth
To attract and retain prestigious multi-year events with consistent year-on-year growth, EWB is implementing a two-pronged strategy. Firstly, intensifying strategic partnerships, with the team activey forging partnerships with international event organisers. This will provide valuable industry insights and cultivate long-term relationships. Secondly, leveraging ASM Global’s network, as EWB utilises this extensive network and communication channels to implement a targeted marketing plan, expanding its reach to a wider audience of international event organisers.
Geo-Cloning: A Catalyst for Global Expansion
EWB will adopt geo-cloning – replicating successful events in new markets – as part of a holistic growth strategy to attract international events. By collaborating with prominent international industry participants to introduce the subvention and incentive programme, and leveraging the geo-cloning methodology, EWB will generate attention and interest across targeted key markets including the Americas, UK, Europe, India, China, and the Middle East. This approach, coupled with a customer-centric focus, industry agility, and a commitment to innovation and adaptability, positions EWB for long-term success as a leading MICE destination.
