Milano. More than 4,000 events are scheduled to be held during Expo Milano 2015. This was one of the main topics discussed at the meeting Expo 2015 Opportunities for Tourism held within the context of the BizTravel Forum featuring key speaker Giovanni Sacripante, General Manager for Sales, Business Development, Fundraising & Ticketing for Expo 2015.

The numerous events within the event will take place in the countless spaces located within the Expo area: the open theatre, capable of accommodating 13,000 individuals which, in addition to Expo by Night will also host loads of other initiatives; 20 small squares scattered throughout the grounds of the exhibition site capable of holding from 1,000 to 1,500 people; the Expo centre, located in the west part of the Decumano, boasting a 3,000 person capacity.

Events spaces for up to 1,000 people are also envisaged within the nine clusters, i.e. the thematic pavilions, where three or four events will be held on a weekly basis, and at Padiglione Italia. Another location extending over a surface area of some 1,000 square metres, dedicated to conventions and B2B meetings, will probably be awarded, via a tender, to one specific operator, i.e. an events agency.

A complete events guide will be published in February next year while companies and organizers can put forward proposals for events to be included in the calendar until the end of this year.
