Guernsey. A couple of days ago Tony Carey, a colleague and friend of many in the meeting industry, sadly passed away. He was a presenter and consultant to the meetings industry and a member of the MPI United Kingdom Chapter.
Bruce MacMillan, CA, MPI President & CEO send a message out to the community: “Today the meeting community mourns the passing of Tony Carey, CMP, CMM. Tony, a familiar face and voice around the globe, transitioned from a career as a meeting organizer to become a prominent speaker and consultant. His insights, wisdom and, perhaps most notably, indelible sense of humor were widely enjoyed and lauded. Tony served on the International Board of Directors for MPI and wrote for several industry publications, winning multiple awards in his role as an MPI columnist (including a national U.S. honor awarded just this week for his One+ column Across the Bow).
He will be missed. We’ll share further details on arrangements and his family’s wishes as soon as they are available. We know many of you have many wonderful memories of Tony, and we invite you to share them on a blog that I started today. We will pass these on to Tony’s family as a tribute to his long and distinguished career with MPI”.
