The games convention is scheduled to take place from 28 – 30 October 2022. The areas of gaming, eSports, Japan, but also artists as well as cosplay and content creation are to play a major role at the convention. Among others, Mikkel Robrahn (Friendly Fire) and Stephan Freundorfer (video game journalist) are also involved in the planning. Thanks to the support of RCADIA, experts in the field of eSports will also be part of the team.

In addition to the planned face-to-face fair, the new community fair will have an extensive online part as well as an additional mobile app, a streaming show and a hybrid, gamified fair concept.

“With “Polaris”, we are launching the third major event within a short period of time with partners after PHOTOPIA in 2021 and FUTURE MOVES in 2022,” says fair director Bernd Aufderheide. “A cool theme, a killer format. I am thrilled. Both fit perfectly with the HMC and Hamburg. The community of gamers also benefits from the location of our halls, in the direct vicinity of some of the city’s most creative districts. Work and party – there couldn’t be better conditions for the “Polaris”.

In reference to a new games release, the project is announced under the codename “Polaris”, and the countdown to the name reveal can be found on the website. A first teaser trailer is available here.
