Worth waiting for: Hilton plans to open two hotels in the Airrail Center at Frankfurt Airport in early 2009: the Hilton, with 247 rooms and 1,450 sq. metres of conference space, including a 600 sq. metre ballroom, and the 314-room Garden Inn. The Airrail Center above the 34,000 sq. metre mainline station opposite the airport was originally expected to open in May 2006. Built at a cost of 660m Euros, the building has nine floors, is 660 metres long, 65 metres wide, 34 metres high and incorporates the glass cupola of the ICE station. With a total of 215,000 sq. metres of floorspace, it will offer 95,000 sq. metres of office space and 30,000 sq. metres of hotel space. www.hilton.com, www.airrail.de
