The initial agreement was signed in March 2022 and heralded ICCA and ASAE’s commitment to leverage the strengths of each organisation. After a successful inaugural period, it was agreed to renew, expanding opportunities for engagement and knowledge sharing between association leaders globally, and the global association meetings community. By aligning shared goals and strategic plans, ICCA and ASAE aims to maintain a focus on peer-to-peer learning and further developing a wide-reaching global community.

ICCA and ASAE state that they will continue to seek joint exhibiting opportunities as well as issuing co-authored statements to support both communities.

Stronger together

ICCA CEO, Senthil Gopinath commented: “ICCA recognises how important strategic partnerships bring greater value to our members. When we entered into this original agreement it felt like the right fit for both ICCA and ASAE. Together, we are undoubtedly stronger as both believe in advocacy around sustainability, legacy, DEI, innovation, and developing new talent. These are very exciting times for the international meetings and events industry, and visionary collaborations such as this raises the bar on what might be achieved at all levels of society. We look forward to creating an even stronger value proposition for all, and we will ensure the positive impact of what our community does is heard and recognised across the globe.”

“Change and disruption are still constant for association leaders working around the world,” added ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “The key to managing change and staying ahead of the curve lies in how we partner to advance our organisations and the relevancy of the entire sector. I’m so pleased that we have renewed this relationship with ICCA to expand opportunities for engagement and knowledge sharing between global association leaders and meeting professionals.”
