It is always the question if it is a good thing to reveal secrets or privately preferred places – I tend to keep some secrets for myself. But here are my favourites in Vienna for the moment:

My favourite spots in Vienna:

Top three favourite restaurants
Absolutely trendy at the moment the Loft in the new Sofitel – a roof top restaurant with top quality French cuisine but the ultimate reason for going there is the incredible view over the city centre, dine and look at Vienna at night – a perfect combination.
Another favourite is the Restaurant Österreicher in the Museum of Applied Arts, typical Viennese cuisine in Brasserie Style linked to the Museum which is famous also for Art Deco Handicraft, a superb bar with a unique chandelier made out of milk bottles.
Finally the Restaurant Artner am Franziskanerplatz – around the corner Anna Netrebko, the famous opera singer, has her apartment, a restaurant perfect for a business dinner but also for private dinners – excellent food, top wines and you are in the heart of the city.

Top three favourite bars
A must to pass by and have a drink is the famous Loos Bar in the city centre. This bar has been designed by the famous art deco architect Loos. Still an original masterpiece of Art deco and the drinks are excellent.
More a lounge type bar for relaxing and talking is the Livingstone, more in a colonial style with excellent cocktails.
And a new hot spot not only for taking a drink but also to have dinner is Motto am Fluss the new venue on the Danube Channel next to the city centre. A very stylish venue with excellent food.

Top three favourite hotspots
Enjoy the Volksgarten Club a discotheque and bar with the unique opportunity also to sit in the open air in spring and summer, a club for all generations.
A different and unique place is the roof top restaurant (only in service Monday to Friday evening) on top of the Palace of Justice – gorgeous view over the Ringstrasse, the Parliament, the Museums and the Hofburg Palace.
If you want to spend some time during the night, stroll the Gürtel with numerous bars, restaurants and clubs with live music, walk all night until the morning.

But as said before not all secrets have been revealed…
