The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s (the Centre) team members joined venues and industry players around the world in celebrating Global Exhibitions Day 2018 (#GED18).

According to the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, “We are honoured to participate in the Global Association for the Exhibition Industry’s (UFI) #GED18 to celebrate the power of the exhibition industry and the positive impact it has on job creation, business growth, trade and investment.”

Elaborating on the Centre’s exhibition segment performance, Pryor, shared, “Since opening in 2005, we have hosted 909 exhibitions which welcomed close to 19.4 million visitors. Last year alone, we held 59 exhibitions with an attendance of over 1.4 million visitors.”

The Centre’s expansion continues to progress and is due to be completed in mid-2019. The extension will provide an additional 11,000 sqm of flexible and multi-purpose space, which means more room to accommodate larger exhibitions and meetings, as well as concurrent events.

Now in its third year, #GED18, which took place on 6 June, puts a focus on the people and jobs in the exhibition industry and activities have been scheduled in over 70 countries around the world.
