Cooperation. Four European MPI chapters, France-Suisse, United-Kingdom, The Netherlands and Belgium have decided to co-organise the first cross border event on Corporate and Social Responsibility applied to the meeting industry. This first edition will take place in Lille, France on Friday June 19 at 14:00.

What is CSR, Corporate Social Responsibility? Why organise a green meeting? What does a conference organiser need to plan a sustainable meeting? What will be his return on investment when organising a green meeting? Renowned international speakers will answer these questions: Elizabeth Henderson, Director of CSR for MPI International, Jan-Christoph Napierski, Head of sections for the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2009/COP15 Copenhagen and Eric Rozenberg CMM, CMP, President of Swantegy and nominated Chairman-elect of MPI International will run a debate with a professional meeting organizer, an exhibition organizer, a venue, an international hotel chain, a politician, a carrier, and even a caterer.

The conference will take place at Lille Grand Palais, a Carbon Care© venue. The whole programme has been made with a special attention to sustainability. From accessibility by train to Lille, to the CSR organic coffee breaks, through low carbon transfers or e-mailing invitations.

The conference is open to MPI members and non members and followed by a seated gala dinner in the Greater Lille Chamber of Commerce, a listed monument but sustainable in many ways including photovoltaic panels! For more info and registration: www.meeting2009.fr
