Munich wanted to know: According to statistics

the meetings market in the larger region of Munich is worth approximately 300

million euros. Over 2.3 million trade visitors come to Munich every year to take

part in one of 70,000 meetings. 950,000 overnight stays are booked by external

attendees every year who spend an average of 170 euros a day. The ICM posted

attendance figures of up to 6,000, and 80 of the 176 conventions staged at ICM

are two to five-day events. In 2004 the Congress of the European Society of

Cardiology will take place at the ICM for the first time with approx. 22,000
