Destination-related content. MeetingsIn, LLC  has acquired the web channel “Meeting the World” from MEETINGS:review Ltd. Its first production — a series on Germany, its centers of science and business excellence and sustainable meetings — will begin this month. Integrated with MeetingsIn’s offering, “Meeting the World” will become a very useful resource on the web for meeting planners, suppliers and luxury travel advisors. The web channel will feature a mix of engaging blog and documentary-style video on international destinations – giving those in the travel and meetings industry unparalleled insight into their potential next meeting location.

Meeting the World’s team of travel and meetings experts won renown for producing high-quality and in-depth video reports from destinations across the globe. With this acquisition, these will now be distributed to a database of international meeting planners and luxury travel advisors. Additionally, MeetingsIn will enhance content with its own City Guides, and expand the site’s content to encompass news, views, education and analysis from leading industry figures in the meetings, incentives and business travel markets.

Commenting on the launch, MeetingsIn Chief Executive Ian Quartermaine, said: “We saw Meeting the World as the jewel in the MEETINGS:review crown. It will now become the focal point for the MeetingsIn group and we are keen to use the content generated here to add much more value and depth to our existing proposition. Today, time is short and content is king; by offering meeting planners and luxury travel advisors the ability to experience a destination from the comfort of their own computer, we’re helping to reduce excessive travel time away from the office as well as creating a key video platform where buyers and planners have access to valuable information via social media and mobile channels. Content is the way for us to engage with our target audience and this will be the richest stream of destination-related content on the web.”

Meeting the World will kick off its new filming schedule later this month with a trip to Germany to showcase the country’s commitment to sustainable events as well as its centers of science and business excellence. These include medicine and healthcare; transport and logistics; chemicals and pharmaceuticals; technology and innovation; energy and the environment and financial services.

Matthias Schultze, Managing Director, GCB German Convention Bureau, said: “Technological progress and in particular the use of social media are integral parts of sustainable events, such as those offered in Germany, one of the leading countries in the conference and events industry. MEETING the World offers us an ability to showcase Germany, our unique centers of excellence, and our commitment to running green meetings, not only through the channel’s in-depth and high-quality video productions, but also from the insider video blogs, which have become increasingly popular across our industry and beyond. These two vehicles lend themselves beautifully to highlighting the best that Germany has to offer the meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions industry.”
