The GSMA’s fifth annual Shanghai-based event, Mobile World Congress Shanghai, was a “resounding success”. According to the organizers. MWC Shanghai 2016 was the GSMA’s largest-ever mobile industry event in Asia, with more than 53,000 participants. The three-day exhibition and conference attracted executives from the industry’s largest and most influential mobile operators, device makers, equipment providers, software companies and Internet companies, as well as technology-savvy consumers.

Under the theme of “Mobile is Me”, MWC Shanghai focused on how mobile technology – from connected cars and wearable tech to the Internet of Things and smarter cities – is revolutionising every aspect of individuals’ lives and creating a personalised experience.

Held across four halls at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNIEC), the event hosted nearly 550 exhibitors, including 18 country and regional pavilions. Companies from across the mobile ecosystem as well as adjacent industry sectors provided an excellent product exhibition experience, including Alibaba, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, China UnionPay, Cisco, Coolpad, Ericsson, Ford, Hewlett Packard, HTC Vive, Intel, KT, Lenovo, LeTV, LG Electronics, McAfee, NEC, Nokia, Nubia, Tata Communications, Twitter, SAP, SK Telecom, Snail Mobile, Sony, Visa, Volkswagen, Xiaomi and ZTE.
