Early March saw the opening of the 5-star Radisson SAS Hotel Berlin at Alexanderplatz. The 427-room hotel has five conference rooms (plenum:437) and a 572-sqm conference foyer. The centre of the hotel is a 25-metre aquarium. (www.radissonsas.com). On 29 March 2004 a 4-star-plus Mövenpick Hotel is slated to open in an old Siemens building near Potsdamer Platz.
