The International Humic Substances Society IHSS will meet at the Palacongressi di Rimini from 26 to 30 August 2024. The conferences are held every two years, the 2021 edition was virtual and took place in the United States.

IHSS is part of the Palacongressi’s strategy of attracting international events to Rimini, to be consolidated over the long term and which has already led to 12 confirmed events scheduled from 2022 to 2025. The IEG team that developed and presented the bid worked in synergy with Prof. Teodoro Miano of the University of Bari, who was also involved in the previous congress held in Italy, and with Prof. Claudio Ciavatta of the University of Bologna and Prof. Claudio Zaccone of the University of Verona. The positive outcome of the bid followed a site inspection by the Local Organizing Committee and a challenge from the city of Brno (Czech Republic).
